Case Study
Walmart is a global superpower when it comes to retailing and shopper marketing and interaction. Starting in Bentonville Ar. it has grown substantially through its ability to adapt and bring new ideas to the retailing world!
Walmart faces stiff competition from a variety of retailers in different markets. In the grocery sector, Walmart's main competitors include Kroger, Target, and Amazon-owned Whole Foods. In the general merchandise category, Walmart competes with Target, Costco, and Dollar General. While each of these competitors has its strengths, Walmart stands out for its wide product selection, low prices, and convenient store locations. However, some competitors like Target and Costco may offer a more upscale shopping experience with higher quality products and more stylish store designs.

The Problem
Walmart is renowned for its slogan, "Save money, Live better." By offering low prices, the store caters to a broad range of customers' essential needs. The company constantly evolves, expanding its product offerings and upgrading its stores. However, some customers have noted that this evolution has led to a change in store layout that can be disorienting, making it challenging for shoppers to locate the products they seek.
“I enjoy the improvements Walmart is making, but I can never seem to find what I am looking for. Compared to target I always know where things are.”
- Ben Williams, a Walmart Customer
The Solution
To address this issue, we will introduce a new feature called Walmart Cart, which will be available as an addition to the existing Walmart+ app. With Walmart Cart, shoppers can import their shopping lists into the app, which will automatically sort the groceries by location and provide directions to the exact aisle where each item can be found. By selecting their nearest Walmart store, shoppers can ensure that the map accurately reflects the store's layout. There will be a charging port along with an adjustable smartphone mount on each cart to effectively use the new GPS feature. This new feature promises to simplify and streamline the shopping experience, making it more efficient for customers to find the products they need.
