Branding
& Logo Design
Ryan the Hawaiian is a fictional food truck created for a school project. We were tasked with creating a fictitious food truck that would allow us to do branding and logo design as well as thinking about the design of the truck itself.
Ryan the Hawaiian came from a college friend of my sister. I heard many stories of this guy named Ryan Williams who was a soccer star for John Brown University and a friend of my sister. I remember her talking about how good 'Ryan the Hawaiian' was at soccer and how this nickname flooded the school along with his skill. After doing some research on what type of food truck I wanted, I settled on something tropical and fresh. As soon as that was decided Ryan the Hawaiian popped into my head and this fresh seafood food truck was born.

Inspiration
Since I was making a Hawaiian food truck, I wanted everything to have the essence of Hawaii. I looked up tropical Hawaiian objects and something that stood out to me was Hawaiian Tiki heads. Tiki's are such an iconic item that can express so much emotion and can evoke tropical vibes. Because of this, I knew I had to make it the focus of the logo.
Icon Creation
With the icon, I wanted it to be the staple of Ryan the Hawaiian and something that everyone would recognize. I kept it simple by not overdoing the details in the design of the tiki head. I wanted him to be versatile in showing different features and emotions.
